Take a step up. Just when you think you’re almost there, brace yourself as the next step might send you backwards. Ascending a staircase is simple from an observer’s perspective, but the observer will never feel, or understand exactly what it is like to take that step. What we observe does not equate to the convoluted processes that occur within our own lives. Instead, the mind’s labyrinth-like contents produce behavior that is circuitous to an observer, discouraging the observer to dig deeper and venture through its paths.
